Backlog of work.

I’m trying to work out what I need to do first with this back log of work. I’m going over drawings I did earlier last year at the beginning of my MA and proposal to try and see through and finish some work.

I started painting this with cheap household paint. It was flat and Matt so once I started adding a little oil paint over the top with the same colours I feel it brought it to life. Alongside this painting

Not yet finished but I’m loving finishing it and adding oils. I found it frustrating painting small bit for some reason that’s all changed and I think it’s something to do with all the change at the moment. It feels apt to be painting these pictures of my daughter and her school as yesterday we heard about the school closures because of Coronavirus. These are sad paintings because of all what they represent about going to school and not going to school for a 16 year old.

  1. I love the change of subject matter Pamela! It’s great to see a different style of art, I love it too. The dominance of the blacked-out window really sets an emotive tone and emphasises the hollowness of building. Possibly because the girls are the personality, the soul of the school and now they’re not there – it’s gone. Keep up the fantastic work x
