An artist based in North Yorkshire, England, at the moment painting in oils on canvas.

Warm ups

Working away from Home and Setting up a small workspace in Richmond outside in the emergency exit/bin area. Every space can be useful ! Im working on small scale at the moment to get my ideas down. I started Using acrylics because I have a small space and there is nowhere safe to leave my paintings to dry, but didn’t gave black so went back to using oils!! That idea of using acrylics didn’t last long!! But I might use both on the same painting. I find it difficult restricting myself and starting with light colours. I thought I read somewhere to start with light colours and work darker. But I find that so restrictive and want to just get on with the dark colours! Once before I gave associated painting with cooking and baking and I think it might be like wanting to decorate the cake before I have put it in the oven !!!!

Sketch and start of painting of my view in Richmond Upon Thames with inspiration from the interior floor in the flat

Tile I bought that reminded me of the floor in the flat. Love the colours and will use this as inspiration to add to my view.
