What do I want to say ?

My module 5 of my MA Creative Practice

Thinking about Exhibition space for my end of my Masters show or shows as it is beginning to turn out. I am very excited and thrilled to be asked to show my art at Weetons in Harrogate. The offer could not have come at a better time. I am so excited and thinking hard about what paintings I want to show and what I am all about.

I have two exhibitions running simultaneously. One at Weetons and one at The Great Yorkshire Show on the Wandahome stand so I can chose what goes where.

I have looked at my art that I have been making over the past two years and all the experimenting I have done.

My local landscape is repeating itself time and time again in my work and there is no better place to show this work than with a local company like Weetons that celebrate local food and local farmers. So I want to celebrate that but with my thoughts about finding the beauty in the wettest and darkest of times.

These two painting above of the weather over fields were made at the beginning of my course and now I am using them alongside sketches of the local landscape to hopefully capture the soul of Yorkshire

Idol Brimham Rocks
Unfinished oil painting
Unfinished oil painting is a plan to paint the idol and capture wet rock and damp skies starting with mixing my own green phthalo Green and Buff Titanium until my brush and palette are completely clear.

I’ve always wanted to be an artist for some reason. What ever that means. Perhaps it means being paid to create art or creating art for yourself? I think it would make me happier to paint every day, to loose myself in the process of painting, drawing, making ! Only of course when I am enjoying it and it’s going well! 😇 I like beautiful things around me. I like colour, pattern and texture. I like history, I like to know what has happened in people’s lives, how they have coped with life and what they have done.
