Maybe a good idea?

Maybe it’s a good idea for me to blog as I am working? Rather than to wait until I’ve finished something and then write retrospectively? I managed to find time today to cut myself off emotionally from everything that is going on around me and put that energy and feeling into a painting. I started off with one of the three drawings I had set aside. These were drawings based on our life drawing session. I wanted to take these three drawings further and experiment with them to see what happened.

Drawing from life

I didn’t want to spoil this drawing so using the same technique, drawing without taking the pen off the paper and without looking at the paper, but continually looking at my original drawing. Using a black sharpie permanent marker I found interesting as I could hide any mistakes and forced to use them.

My summer studio

These are going to be three paintings representing women, domestic abuse, control and much more.
